In ‘Focuspuller’ (2013) words projected on two mirroring screens alternately appear and dissolve forming a perspective experiment: the eye is forced to focus and un-focus and leaps between the two glasses following a controlled rhythm. This work emphasizes the temporal element to which every image is forced to conform, negotiating its presence in time. Focus Puller was developed for the exhibition Rosa Barba: Subject to Constant Change at Turner Contemporary in Margate, UK, where the artist put a series of sculptures and films in relation to J.M.W. Turner's lectures on perspective, including a selection of pedagogical drawings he had used at the Royal College. The text on the film, like other text based pieces in the exhibition engage in an enigmatic monologue circling and zooming into a thought or an idea.
