Blind Volumes is an installation originally commissioned and conceived for Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt. Following the exhibition in Frankfurt, Blind Volumes has been installed in an adapted indoor version at Malmö Konsthall, for the exhibitions Rosa Barba – Elements of Conduct and at Wainö Altoonen Museum, Turku for the Exhibition Rosa Barba – Touched By the Same Breath of Air. The structure, made up of 80 steel frames, functions as a platform and vertical stage for a number of spatially arranged works and simultaneously is able to interact with the volume of the exhibition space and the singularity of its architecture. With its title inspired by the author and librarian Jorge Luis Borges’ Library of Babel, it functions as a container of the fictional possibilities and narratives that might be encompassed by an invisible volume.
